Influences
Nationally acclaimed artist Mary Green La Forge created a special world through watercolor and oil. Her favorite subjects were florals and winter landscapes. Her love of nature was reflected in her extensive personal gardens and her interpretations of floral arrangements. Her works capture the freshness and light of the natural environment with rich yet transparent colors of her watercolors and the brilliant colors of her oils. The results were impressionistic paintings that go beyond realism to capture a moment in time.
Her art and signature style have been influenced by the Impressionist Masters as well as notable contemporary artists including Charles Reid, Ed Whitney, John Pike, Zygmund Janchowski, Rex Brandt, Louis Bonamarte, Katherine Simmons, Katherine Anderson, Charlie Dunn and Don Keene.
