About Mary
Nationally acclaimed artist Mary Green La Forge created a special world through watercolor and oil. Her favorite subjects were florals and winter landscapes. Her love of nature was reflected in her extensive personal gardens and her interpretations of floral arrangements. Her works captured the freshness and light of the natural environment with rich yet transparent colors of her watercolors and the brilliant colors of her oils. The results were impressionistic paintings that go beyond realism to capture a moment in time.
Her watercolor and oil paintings have won major awards and are featured in galleries, private and corporate collections throughout the country, including Merrill Lynch, American Re-Insurance, Eden Institute and Saint Mary's Foundation and University of Connecticut. Her works have been published in books such as The Artistic Touch 6. Her art has been shown at multiple museums, including the Philadephia Museum of Art.
Mary was an art instructor for over 30 years, and most recently taught watercolor and oil painting in the Lyme, CT area.
